Business Spotlight - Yerba Buena

 


Welcome back to another addition of Business Spotlight.  I had the good luck to spark up a conversation with Bibing about some future business plans in Upland.  It was a very enlightening conversation to say the least.  We wasted no time diving right into the details.  Man what a trip.  Let's get this party started.


So Bibing, tell me is there a story behind the explorer name?

Can't remember exactly, but it may be because I liked the word imbibe.


Yup, that checks out.  Pretty cool idea, I like it.  So tell me what's the name of your business?

 Good Herb Nursery


 So....uh....it's a.....

Nursery


Got it, a nursery.  Cool cool cool.  So how did you end up deciding to start up this nursery?

I found 420 Yerba Buena when looking at props on Upland dr on the secondary. Yerba Buena is Spanish for Good Herb @ThankMeLater. Also the bonus of the number 420 being associated with weed culture and herb often slang for weed. It was a match made in heaven, to top it off the development and businesses update was announced and there was the option of nursery as a business. I knew I had an obligation to make 420 Yerba Buena a nursery. The name came naturally, Good Herb Nursery.

 

 OK, I get it now.  Thanks for walking me through that, it was helpful.  Nice shout out there too.  So, the address is obviously...

You are crushing this interview, I don't even know why you need me here.  So tell me, what's going to set you apart from other competing nurseries?

It's gonna be the best nursery in all of Upland. It has the best name. 


Well there you have it.  There is no denying that.  What type of development do you plan on doing with your property in Upland.

Hopefully if everything works out I will develop it into a nursery business when the Development and Businesses update comes.


That seems like a good choice.  So will the Good Herb Nursery only be at 420 Yerba Buena or do you have other locations to which you might expand?

 Hmmmm maybe Yerba Buena Island?


Yup, that makes sense, I should have been able to figure that one out myself.   So do you have a tag line or any type of business moto?

420 Yerba Buena. Upland's Good Herb Nursery.

Upland NFT Mining

What is Upland NFT Mining? Upland Comics & Collectibles  is excited to partner with CryptomonKeys and MetaForce Comics to bring NFT mining to Upland.  But what exactly does that mean?  Is this a game mechanic produced by the Upland team?  No, this is not provided by Upland, but you do need to be in the Upland game to participate.  Upland has not at any time promised NFT giveaways or direct peer to peer gifting in app and it doesn't appear anywhere on their roadmap.  As they have an exciting and ever growing set of future mechanics available though, it very well may be a possibility.  But, until such time that they do, Upland Comics has decided to go for it themselves. Highlights of Spud and the Minting Challenge

I saw a lot of people confused by the recent minting challenge, so I decided to pick out some highlights from the recent Upland Medium article . All points are from the Medium article unless otherwise noted.  Note: We still don't know all of the details. I'll update as more is released.  Spud Property development will be driven by Spark (which is a token). However, the sandbox (which will allow players to play with the property development interface) will use a temporary resource we’re calling “Spud”. During the sandbox competitions, Spud will be used to build properties. All players of Uplander status and above will receive Spud when it is distributed. Spud will have no direct utility beyond these sandbox competitions.
