Little Italy Giveaway


Hey all you Uplanders, another week and another great community event.  I got the chance to sit down with TDavis and talk about his event which will be a first of it's kind.  A bi-coastal give away that you can participate in from either SF or NYC. Keep reading below to hear all the details.

Attenzione, Uplanders!

To celebrate the opening of NYC in Upland, and to commemorate this important date in New York history, I will be releasing the first of my Little Italy series NFTs today, Friday, September 11th, 2020. In the spirit of kindness and unity, the "Welcome to Little Italy" gold series NFTs will be gifted to a few lucky recipients via raffle. This is the first NFT of the series and my debut artwork for both the UplandFanArt (UFA) label, and NFTs in general. Each NFT is also backed with 100 WAXP to give it some added intrinsic value. 
If NFTs aren't your thing (you're fugazi, getouddahere), I will also be awarding one lucky recipient with the opportunity to join the Little Italy community via purchase of  address number 171 on the coveted Mulberry Street in Little Italy for 4000 UPX (offer unfortunately not available to Visitors). 

How to Enter:

If you are in New York, you will visit one of the two properties book-ending the real life 'Welcome to Little Italy' sign at the intersection of Mulberry Street and Broome Street.

Visitors/Uplanders - Visit 'Grotta Azzurra' at 387 Broome Street (40 UPX Visitor Fee)

Pros/Directors - Visit 'Cafe Roma' at 385 Broome Street (100 UPX Visitor Fee)

If you are in San Francisco, you will visit one of the two NY Style Pizzerias from the 'Operation: Hello, NYC' live-event.

Visitors/Uplanders - Visit 'Bernal Heights Pizzeria' at 1361 Church Street (40 UPX Visitor Fee)

Pros/Directors - Visit 'Escape from NY Pizza' at 3224 22nd Street (100 UPX Visitor Fee)

Visit as many times as you like, each visit will be counted as one entry into the drawing. Contest ends at 11:59 PM CST, on Sunday, September 13th, 2020. The drawing will take place on Monday, September 14th, 2020, time TBD.

Upland NFT Mining

What is Upland NFT Mining? Upland Comics & Collectibles  is excited to partner with CryptomonKeys and MetaForce Comics to bring NFT mining to Upland.  But what exactly does that mean?  Is this a game mechanic produced by the Upland team?  No, this is not provided by Upland, but you do need to be in the Upland game to participate.  Upland has not at any time promised NFT giveaways or direct peer to peer gifting in app and it doesn't appear anywhere on their roadmap.  As they have an exciting and ever growing set of future mechanics available though, it very well may be a possibility.  But, until such time that they do, Upland Comics has decided to go for it themselves. Highlights of Spud and the Minting Challenge

I saw a lot of people confused by the recent minting challenge, so I decided to pick out some highlights from the recent Upland Medium article . All points are from the Medium article unless otherwise noted.  Note: We still don't know all of the details. I'll update as more is released.  Spud Property development will be driven by Spark (which is a token). However, the sandbox (which will allow players to play with the property development interface) will use a temporary resource we’re calling “Spud”. During the sandbox competitions, Spud will be used to build properties. All players of Uplander status and above will receive Spud when it is distributed. Spud will have no direct utility beyond these sandbox competitions.
